Hear free classical music throughout Milford on Aug. 3
Free performances of classical music — strings, brass, and voice, from Bach to Offenbach and beyond — are coming to Milford on Saturday, Aug. 3.
The day-long Classical Music Celebration will be offered both outdoors and indoors, from noon to 5 p.m. An orchestral gala is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Milford Theatre.
Groups of musicians, singers, and dancers will perform throughout the historic district. No tickets are required for any of the events.
The first Classical Music Celebration took place in the summer of 2016 and the second in 2017. Both were great successes, so Kindred Spirits Arts Programs, a nonprofit organization of volunteers, is producing the event again this year. It showcases the beauty of classical music and local talent while also promoting the handsome historic district and its surroundings.
This year's artists include the Manhattan Symphonie Strings under violinist-conductor Gregory Singer; Brass Quintessence; the Mountain Winds Woodwind Quintet; and the Delaware Valley Choral Society, conducted by Jeff Fornoff. In the evening the musicians will join together for a grand finale at the Milford Theatre.
