Evening of comedy will benefit education foundation
Vernon The Vernon Education Foundation will host an evening of stand-up comedy on Saturday, Feb. 13, at the Legends Resort. Alan Marx will headline the evening, presented by Comedy Blast, Inc. He was the creator and host of Headlinging Tonight with Alan Marx for AOL’s Improv Channel and a celebrity guest on the Ricki Lake Show. He has performed at the Tropicana Resorts in both Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Ellen Karis will also perform. She is a regular on Carnival Cruise Lines, and calls Stand-up New York and the Gotham Comedy Club home. The host for the evening will be Jose Angel Diaz, a regular at Caroline’s Comedy Club. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the comedy will begin at 7 p.m. Admission is $40 per person and includes a beefsteak dinner. A cash bar will be available throughout the evening. Tickets must be bought in advance by Feb. 9. No tickets will be sold at the door. (Must be 21 years or older to attend.) Coming up The 4th annual White Lights/Black Tie Charity Ball will be held on Saturday, March 27 in the Grand Ballroom at Minerals Hotel & Spa. Tickets will be available at $100.
