Christmas cantata at church

Vernon — The choir of Holy Counselor Lutheran Church will be joined by a group of additional singers and instrumental musicians to present a Christmas cantata, “The Mystery and the Majesty,” on Sunday, Dec. 20 at 4 p.m. The music was written by Joseph M. Martin, with orchestrations by Brant Adams. The choir is directed, and this event is organized, by Holy Counselor’s music director, June Tarantino. The choir is a long-standing tradition at Holy Counselor, and its tenor section is augmented this year by the contribution of the church’s new pastor, Rev. Chris Bruesehoff. The concert is free and has a running time, including narration, of approximately 45 minutes. Holy Counselor is located on Sandhill Road in Vernon.
