Franklin — Westwind Manor is celebrating its second anniversary under new ownership and along with that the residential healthcare residence for seniors celebrates its restoration. Owners Todd and Tiffany Tavares took ownership of the building in March 2007 and conducted a complete restoration with his father, Dan Tavares, before opening in October 2007. Westwind Manor is also known as the Catlin House and celebrated its 100-year anniversary in October 2008. The home is steeped in history and glorious early 19th century features. According to the Tavares family, residents say they felt at home as soon as they entered the grand foyer. The Tavareses have worked to provide “a warm family atmosphere” and they say their staff, whom they call team members, “make our residents’ lives better through involvement, compassion and the best quality care” To celebrate its anniversary, Westwind Manor will hold an open house on Saturday, Jan. 2 and Sunday, Jan. 3 from 1 to 5 p.m. each day.
