Wantage man faces drug charges

A Wantage man faces drug charges after Franklin police conducted an investigation into narcotics distribution within the borough.

Anthony V. Cimbaro, 64, of Wantage was charged with multiple counts of possession of heroin and distribution of heroin both within 1,000 feet of a school, specifically the Franklin Elementary School. Cimbaro was also found to be in possession of Alprazolam and Viagra, which were not prescribed to him.

A search warrant was executed of Cimbaro’s vehicle on Monday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m. in the ShopRite parking area on State Highway 23 in Franklin Borough. Police said Cimbaro was found with several thousand dollars’ worth of heroin and several hundred dollars in cash.

Cimbaro was arrested by Franklin Detectives without incident and the investigation continued. A short time later, a search warrant was executed on Cimbaro’s residence in Wantage, where additional heroin and over $30,000 was believed to be drug sale proceeds, was located. During the search, Cimbaro was found to maintaining his residence as a drug production facility, specifically by packaging and repackaging narcotics for sale, police said.

The heroin located in Cimbaro’s vehicle and in his residence by Franklin Police Detectives was found packaged and ready for sale.

Cimbaro was charged with multiple narcotic distribution offenses in Franklin and in Wantage.

Investigation is ongoing and additional arrests may follow.
