Motorist keeps police dispatch updated on erratic driver

Sparta. On Aug. 13 at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Sparta Police Department dispatch received a call from a motorist travelling west on Glen Road about a black Audi that was being driven erratically.

The motorist kept dispatch updated as to where the vehicle was on Glen Road until a patrol could get to the area to stop the vehicle. Sparta police officer Lippencott was able to stop the vehicle on Main Street and determined that the driver, Dorthy Korybski, 54, of Newton, N.J., had been consuming alcoholic beverages. He asked her to perform field sobriety tests.

Upon completion of the tests, Korybski was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to Sparta police headquarters to be processed.

After the completion of breath testing, Korybski was charged withDriving While Intoxicated, Careless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. She was advised of a mandatory court appearance and released to a sober adult.
