Franklin police charge woman in ShopRite theft

Franklin. Borough police have charged Marianne Murphy of Bloomingdale and charged her with shoplifting from Franklin ShopRite on July 30, 2019. Police said her alleged male accomplice is still being sought.

Franklin police arrested a female suspect on Monday in a shoplifting incident at the Franklin ShopRite on July 30, 2019.

Marianne Murphy of Bloomingdale was charged with one count of shoplifting. Police are still seeking the male suspect.

Police said ShopRite of Franklin reported that two individuals had shoplifted various items, including LCD televisions and air conditioning units, valued at over $1,000.

The couple, a male and female, affixed “paid stickers” to the merchandise and removed the items from the store without paying. Both individuals then left the area prior to being identified.

The female suspect was recently identified after her image, which was depicted in video surveillance, was identified through the use of facial recognition technology.

Murphy was lodged in the Keough-Dwyer Correctional Facility in accordance with the New Jersey Bail Reform Act.
