Peekskill man charged with terroristic threats, weapons possession
The Andover Township Police Department arrested David A. G. Martin, 31, of Peekskill, N.Y., for weapons offenses subsequent to an incident at a local landscaping business.
Officers were dispatched to the business off of Limecrest Road for a report of a male subject who had brandished a gun. Martin had reportedly left the scene in a red Ford F150 in the direction of Newton-Sparta Road. Within minutes the vehicle was seen traveling Newton-Sparta Road towards Newton. Andover Township Police officers conducted a motor vehicle stop with the vehicle on Lawrence Road where Martin had been detained following further investigation into the incident. Recovered at the scene was a PSM45 BB handgun which was determined to have been displayed during a verbal dispute over payment between Martin and the landscaping business owner.
As a result of the investigation Martin was charged with Terroristic Threats (third degree), Unlawful Possession of Weapons (third degree), Possession of Weapons for Unlawful Purposes (second degree), and Aggravated Assault (fourth degree). Martin was lodged in the Morris County Jail pending a first appearance. Newton Police Department assisted at the scene.
