Wallkill Cares is a small program started at Wallkill Valley Regional High School by a group of students referred to as the Peer Pals. The Peer Pals are a group of students from Mrs. Simmons English and Composition AP Class and Mrs. Carter’s LLD Class.

Together this group of 17 students created posters and placed them around the school to ask both the students and staff for contributions for care packages for recent graduates who are proudly serving in the military.

The “Pals” worked together to write cards to each graduate and collect items such as snacks, toiletries, and socks. To date, the teachers and students have identified over a dozen recent graduates who will be the recipients of the packages.

The peer pals and their teachers will mail out more packages in the upcoming months.
