Ogdesnburg officials decided on Oct. 16 to replace the Ogdensburg Historical Building steam boiler instead of upgrading the unit to gas.

Mayor George Hutnick explained the cost to replace the whole unit is a little more than an upgrade; and the unit is already over 20 years old.

Additionally, Hutnick said the DPW is dong a fantastic job with water, road, and town maintenance. All the town wells, he continued, are online and maintained with periodic upgrades; and the DPW is also maintaining the town properly.

Furthermore, he said the police are on top of speeding through the borough.

Outdoor lighting around borough hall, Hutnick said, will be pushed back to next year’s budget, because electrical work and lines need to be run.
