Grand Cascades Lodge debuts biophilic décor for its reopening

Crystal Springs Resort is poised to reopen its Grand Cascades Lodge on June 4, following a sweeping transformation of its décor.
The luxury property’s makeover is highlighted by its biophilic design, a concept used to increase guests’ connection with the environment through the use of natural materials and light, and the replication of elements found in nature.
The resort partnered with the Manhattan-based firm INC Architecture & Design, which has done work on high-profile hotel and restaurant projects.
“Sussex County and the Kittatinny Mountains are rich in natural and human resources,” said Adam Rolston, the design firm’s creative director and managing partner. “The region’s forests and farmlands became the main source of inspiration for the interiors, bringing the outside in through rich, natural palettes and textures. The Resort’s commitment to sustainability has made this an enjoyable project to work on, as we believe what’s good for the planet is good for the human, and what’s good for the human is good for the planet.”
Robby Younes, chief operating officer of Crystal Springs Resort, said biophilic design “can be very powerful in this industry. It is a compelling way to enrich the guest experience, allowing an organic mind-body connection with nature.”
In adherence to new COVID-19 guidelines, the resort will implement comprehensive protocols for the safety and health of its guests, employees, and the community.
