BYRAM — Over 200 runner and walkers participated in the Endorphin 5k and 2k Run-Walk at Wild West City on Saturday, Sept. 29.
The charity race raised money for the Irene & Eric Simon Brain Research Foundation.
Faye Simon Harac formed the Irene & Eric Simon Brain Research Foundation to honor her parents and to help further education and research in the field.
Inspired by the discoveries originating from Dr. Eric Simon’s 40 years as an NYU researcher, the foundation seeks to further research and education on addiction, pain and brain diseases and disorders, such as schizophrenia, brain cancer, traumatic brain injury, PTSD, Parkinson's and Alzheimer’s.
Sponsors for the event were Eastern Propane, The Gabriel Perry Salon of Sparta, Andover Animal Hospital, Applebee's and Cramps 911 Lotion.
Post-race activities included an awards ceremony for the top runners and prizes awarded to 50/50 raffle winners.
