Wallkill Valley Girl Scouts, serving the communities of Franklin, Hamburg, Hardyston and Ogdensburg, recently worked together on their Annual Community Service project. Working with Hugs Across America and Susan Lucarelli, Girl Scouts made about 120 teddy bears for kids in crisis.

Over 60 Girl Scouts joined in this effort to stuff teddies, write out tags of comfort and ready the bears for distribution. The girls had a great time and felt really good about making a difference in the lives of children that are not as fortunate as they are.

The bears are already packed up and ready to be sent to The Cove Center for Grieving Children and the Kings County Hospital Children’s Psychiatric Center.
