If you’ve gone gluten free for health or dietary reasons, you know how frustrating it can be to miss out on favorite baked goods. Savour Café in Newton offers freshly-baked gluten-free muffins; apple cinnamon, banana walnut, chocolate almond, morning glory, and zucchini cranberry. What’s even better? They support the local community—and you don’t have to travel out of your way to get these goodies since you can now find them in your local ShopRite.

Few small businesses see the success that Owner Brandy Cojocaru has experienced with Savour since opening in April 2013. The café now offers coffee, tea, and light meals, a dinner menu, convenient online ordering, and catering for large and small events. Brandy also offers private chef services, working with local musicians to provide live entertainment, and hosts special events for holidays and parties.

Brandy supports local agriculture seeking locally sourced food whenever possible, organic options, and committing to the freshest ingredients. This summer the muffins along with other baked goods are being sold at the Farmer’s market at The Shoppes at Lafayette on Sunday’s from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Indoors gluten-free enthusiasts can find the muffins at your local ShopRite in Byram, Flanders, Newton, Mansfield, Succasunna, and Franklin.

This small business is a prime example of how a locally-owned, community supported business can beat the “big guys” while still delivering the best flavor, value, and customer service.

Savour is open Mondays through Thursdays, 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays 9 a.m. until 10 p.m., and Sundays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. For more information, contact Brandy Cojocaru at 973.940.7802 or brandy@my-savour.com
