    Mildred Bugge of Byram Township, N.J., died peacefully Thursday, April 29, 2021, at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was 82.

    Daughter of John and Catherine (Coyle) Vaughan, she was born and raised in Woodside, N.Y. Mildred moved to Sussex County in 1971 and lived in the Forest Lakes section of Byram Township for 50 years. She was a graduate of Jamaica High School and worked as a Recreational Nurse’s Aide at Andover Subacute and Rehabilitation Center for over 15 years.

    Mildred was a member of Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church in Andover Borough, the Columbiettes at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Newton, the Byram Senior Citizens Club, and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed working with her hands and creating unique crafts.

    Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Charles H. Bugge Sr.; and her brother Thomas F. Vaughan in 2003.

    She is survived by her sons, Charles H. Bugge Jr. of Byram Township and Paul C. Bugge of Jersey City; daughter, Jerilyn Bugge of Alexandria, Va.; granddaughter, Hailey Brown (Raymond) of Virginia Beach, Va.; and her great-granddaughter, Sawyer Rae Lynn Brown of Virginia Beach, Va.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church, Route 517, Andover Borough. Interment will follow in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Airport Road, Green Township. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 7, at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton, from 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, May 8, from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. at the church.
