Kenneth A. Wiik

Kenneth A. Wiik of Highland Lakes, N.J., passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021, at his home. He was 58.

Born in New York City to Aino (Viitala) and the late Boris Wiik, Kenny grew up in River Vale, N.J., and settled in Highland Lakes in 1987.

A graduate of Upsala College. he was a systems analyst for AGO Insurance Software for more than 30 years.

He was active in his community. As an Eagle Scout, he was in the Brotherhood of the Order of the Arrow. He was also a life member and past chief of the Highland Lakes Fire Department and a senior fire instructor at the Sussex County Public Safety Training Academy.

He is predeceased by his father.

Kenny is survived by his loving wife, Donna (Brown) Wiik; sons, Andrew and William Wiik, all of Highland Lakes; grandson, Caden Wiik; sister, Diane Nin and her husband, Hector, of Allen, Texas; and his mother, Aino Wiik of River Vale, N.J.

Visitation was held Feb. 23 at the Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, Vernon, N.J., followed by a firemen’s service. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Counsel Lutheran Church, the Highland Lakes Fire Department, or Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice.
