Jacqueline Marie Wershing of Newton, N.J., passed away peacefully on Thursday Feb. 4, 2021, at her home in Bristol Glen, Newton. She was 87.

Born in Wallington, N.J., she spent her youth at Indian Lake, N.J. Jacqueline married Glenn Wershing and moved to Huntsburg, N.J., to enjoy their estate and country life. Jackie worked at Picatinny Arsenal and had received her associates degree from Morris County Community College. Jackie and her late husband co-founded the Green Township Historical Society as well as serving as past president of the Junior Women’s Club of New Jersey. Active in veterans affairs, she volunteered for the Newton VFW as well as being co-founder of the annual Veterans Day essay contest. Jackie enjoyed tennis and skiing and had a special place in her heart for the Jersey Shore. She loved their many family vacations at the beach, fishing, crabbing, playing miniature golf and enjoying the seafood. Jacqueline was predeceased by her beloved husband, Glen A. in 2015; son Glenn M. in 2017,; brother Mickey Hrinko; and sisters Geri Barlak, Patty Casey, and Lottie Molnar.

She is survived by her daughters Diane and her husband, Paul Henrich D.V.M., and Jeanne and husband, Vinnie Perrella; grandchildren, Christopher Perrella, Ursula and husband, John Leo, and Karl and wife, Robin Henrich; great-grandchildren, Elsa and Greta Leo, Reese, Kole, Luke, and Nolan Henrich; sister Barbara Sperry; brother Walter Hrinko; and daughter-in-law Barbara Gould.

A celebration of Jacqueline’s life will be announced in the summer. In lieu of flowers, remember all the fun times with Jackie and enjoy a glass of wine. Arrangements were made by Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home.
