Edward Platvoet

Edward Platvoet of Hardyston, N.J., passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021, at his home. He was 85.

Born in Paterson, N.J., to the late Edward and Klarina (Onos) Platvoet, Edward grew up there and lived in Wyckoff, N.J., Ogdensburg, N.J., and Franklin, N.J., and Cincinnati, Oio, before retiring from ITT and settling in Hardyston 15 years ago.

Edward had been a Freemason for 58 years. Active in his community, he had also been a member of the Wallkill Golf Club and was a former Scout and Cubmaster and baseball coach when his children were young.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Edward is survived by his loving wife, Grace A. (Shew) Platvoet; children, Glenn and wife, Catherine Platvoet, Carl Platvoet and his partner, Patricia Heredia, and Dale Riedener, all of Franklin; sister, Anne Michielsen of Virginia; grandchildren, Erica, Alexis, Logan, Lee Anne, and Ryan; as well as one great-grandson, Jasper.

Services for Edward are private and under the direction of the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, Franklin.
