Doris Beatrice Sickles Mills

Doris (“Dori”) Beatrice Sickles Mills of Wantage, N.J., was called to the Lord on Monday, March 8, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 90.

Doris was born in Dover, N.J., to the late David Arthur and Louisa Emma (Truscott) Sickles. She lived in Branchville, N.J., for over 20 years before moving to her beloved Florida sunshine in Cape Coral and returning to New Jersey in 2020. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a budget analyst for Picatinny Arsenal. Doris was a past member of the Dover Emblem Club, Branchville 4-H Club, Cape Coral Art League, Sparta Lanes Bowling Team, and Picatinny Golf Club. She enjoyed golfing, painting with friends, displaying her artwork, traveling, hosting annual friend and family Branchville picnics, and finally coming back to New Jersey to live with family.

Doris is survived by her beloved daughters, Linda Smith and her husband, Michael, of Brielle, N.J., Robbin Blessing and her husband, Bill, of Sparta, N.J., and Katherine (Kit) Mills of Wantage, N.J.; grandchildren; Erin Perini and her husband David of Bucks County, PA, Michael Caldarella of Vernon, N.J., Catherine Smith of Walnut Creek, Calif., Christopher Caldarella and his wife, Colleen, of Hampton, N.J., and Andrea Pagliaro of Wantage, N.J.; and her great-grandchildren, Olivia and Violet Caldarella.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Henry (Hank) Mills, in 1993; and her sister Betty Ridner.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements were made by Wood Funeral Home, Branchville, N.J.
