The Pike County Historical Society will hold an all-day music event in the fields behind historic Lock House 16 on Towpath Road in Glen Eyre, along the Lackawaxen River.

“Tunes Along the Towpath” on June 26 will feature three bands. The ticket price of $65 includes music, parking, food and libations. Just bring a lawn chair and enjoy the day.

The musical lineup pays homage to the qualities the make this area along the Lackawaxen so unique and beautiful.

● Little Big Band, 1 p.m. — This band’s up-tempo swing music is a nod to the many swinging bridges that once carried people across the Lackawaxen. One still exists in the village of Baoba, just a mile or so up the road.

● The Scott Weis Band, 3 p.m. — Hear this band play the blues in honor of the bluestone industry that was once a thriving part of Pike County’s export business along the Delaware & Hudson Canal.

● Fred Zepplin Band, 5 p.m. — Close out the day with some good old rock and roll. It was once said that Pike County was made of nothing but rocks and rattlesnakes.

Tickets can be reserved now by calling 570-296-8126 or emailing pikemuse@ptd.net. There are only 50 tickets available at this time, so get them soon to insure your place.
