Christmas in the Village has something for everyone

    Jefferson Township — The Jefferson Arts Committee has scheduled its annual Christmas in the Village event for Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 5 and 6 in Milton Village and vicinity. On Friday, following the annual tree lighting and Santa’s arrival at the township gazebo located in the municipal complex, the recreation department will serve free hot chocolate and cookies in the municipal building’s lobby. Starting off the festivities on Saturday, volunteer members of the Milton First Aid Squad will host three seatings of a pancake breakfast serving up hot breakfast items at the squad building at 45 Milton Road from 7 a.m. to noon. They will be serving pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, orange juice, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate for $8 per person (13 years of age through adults) and $5 per person (3 to 12 years of age). No reservations are required except for groups of six or more. Hot soup and sandwiches along with coffee and tea will be offered for sale at St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church at 153 Milton Road. Visitors are also invited to stop by the grounds of the Jefferson Township Museum at 315 Dover Milton Road for free hot mulled cider, cookies and roasted chestnuts. Hot tea and miniature desserts/baked items are on the menu for the Jefferson Community Players’ A Cup of Christmas Tea offering at the Jefferson Township Senior Center at 54 Schoolhouse Road. Reservations are necessary, and there will be a $5 fee for the tea service at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. There will also be a free performance of the JCP’s adaptation of “A Little Princess.” Members of American Legion Post #423 will be selling pizza, snacks and sodas. The Jefferson Arts Committee will be selling hot dogs, snacks, bottled water and soda at Jefferson Township Fire Company No. 1’s firehouse while the volunteers of the fire company’s ladies auxiliary will be serving up chili, donuts, chicken fingers, fries, chips, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. While visiting with Santa at Camp Jefferson’s Lodge located at 81 Weldon Road, the recreation department will offer hot chocolate, hot dogs, snacks and soda for sale. On Sunday, refreshments will be served following the Jefferson Township Community Chorus’ concert at the Milton United Methodist Church.
