Crystal Run Healthcare announced the successful launch of its new Medical Assistant Training Program.
Developed by the Crystal Run’s Education Department, the six-week program provides trainees the opportunity to begin a career as a Medical Assistant (MA) at Crystal Run Healthcare, some of whom had no prior medical training.
The paid training course is designed to successfully prepare participants through its combination of classroom teaching, skills training and clinical shadowing with a preceptor.
After successful completion of the program, Crystal Run Healthcare hires the graduates as Medical Assistants.
The program, led by Diane Eull, LPN, Clinical Training Specialist, held its first graduation on May 24th for three students that successfully completed the program.
A second program is underway at Crystal Run Healthcare’s Monroe location.
“Too often, organizations limit their potential talent pool to people who have traditional skills and training," said Lisa Landi, Director of Education. "At Crystal Run, we recognize that everyone’s background won’t be the same and that sometimes the best experience comes from nontraditional places.
"We’re excited to provide members of our community with an opportunity to enter the medical field as a part of our organization that may not have had a chance otherwise," Landi added. "Diane and the rest of our department look forward to expanding our Medical Assistant Training Program."
