Wallkill Valley 10u intermediate girls softball team, lovingly named the “Fierce Fighters” and sponsored by local Franklin businesses CKO Kickboxing and Pro Cutters have surprised many this season with indomitable spirit by earning the second place league position this year with a record of 8-2.

This earned them a spot in the playoffs in which they defeated Newton/Andover last week, 8-7, and now move on to the Championship Game at the Franklin Pond field. The Franklin Pond field has been newly renovated with grant money from the Forward Franklin Alliance and this team has won every game they have played there so far.

It’s an exciting time for the Wallkill Valley Softball league whose three divisions, Seniors, Juniors and Intermediate all earned a spot in their Championship games respectively. The Fierce Fighters team is made up of players: Gabryella Abbott, Sabrina Barbato, Abigale Celentano, Allison Celentano, Jacinda DeSino, Megan Dudley, Maggie Guthrie, Skyler Mulligan, Kamryn Odell, Gabriella Otillo, Cassandra Pallay, Hailey Simpson and Addison Smith. Coached Selena Abbott, Michael DeSino, and Darlene Pallay.
