Ogdensburg resident and professional photographer, Paul Michael Kane, has something in common with best selling author Stephen King.

Follow along ... King worked on a book entitled "In the Tall Grass" with fellow novelist, Joe Hill. This summer, Kane’s own photographic work will be featured on the slipcase of a special edition of Joe Hill’s bestseller, "Horns".

Hill, who changed his last name so as not to bank on the success of his father’s name is the son of Stephen King!

Kane, a long time fan of the master of the macabre, was commissioned by publisher, Suntup Editions, based in Irvine, California, to photograph for the slipcase of the limited edition copy of Horns.

Horns tells the story of 26-year-old Ignatius "Ig" Perrish, who wakes up one morning after a drunken night to find that he has sprouted bony, sensitive horns from his temples. Ig had position and security within his hometown of Gideon, New Hampshire, but the rape and murder of his girlfriend, Merrin Williams, changed all that. Despite his innocence, and although he was neither charged nor tried, Ig is largely considered guilty in public opinion.

The novel, originally published in 2009, was nominated for the 2010 Bran Stoker Award. This new edition of the book features three states, a signed/limited lettered edition, a signed/numbered numbered edition and a artist edition, limited to 1,000 books. It’s the artist’s edition that Kane’s work will be featured on.
