Threats of potential storms during the weekend held off long enough for the 11th annual Greenwood Lake Air Show to delight thousands of spectators Saturday and Sunday.
An estimated 20,000 people were expected throughout the weekend as pilots took to the skies with aerial acrobatics and vintage aircraft during the event.
Among the performers this year, Nathan Hammond, known as “Ghost Writer,” displayed his aerial penmanship and illuminated the night sky with over 200 pounds of pyro and LED lights, in “a graceful ballet” among the stars during the Saturday show.
Tom Larkin’s Sub Sonex Jet performed a full aerobatic routine in a small confined space.
The original Batcopter from the T.V. series Batman was on display, as well as the famous Batmobile and Batcyle with a rare appearance of Batman, organizers said.
In addition, attendees were able to see vintage WWII aircraft perform and visit a variety of vendors.
