The Scholarship Pageant was held Saturday, May 19 at the Franklin Borough Elementary School auditorium. Tamara Contreras, from Forward Franklin Alliance, performed host duties and asked each candidate questions. After hearing from the contestants, watching spectacular entertainment and handing out door prizes, Alexandria Colfax was crowned the 2019 Miss Franklin.

Colfax, 20, is a paraprofessional currently working at Franklin Borough Elementary School. She has great admiration for both the teachers at the school and her students. Colfax hopes one day to become a Special Education Teacher.

Junior Miss Franklin, Rebecca Fedder, would like to be a marine biologist and has had perfect attendance in school for the past 6 years. Little Miss Franklin Addison Smith would like to be an actress. Princess of Franklin Salacia Fortuin enjoys many activities and Prince of Franklin Jackson Biamonte spoke about his cat and said he likes Franklin because he lives there.

Elisa Girlando Studios, Sparta, provided pageant entertainment and judges. The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 57 provided the Miss Franklin Scholarship, The Franklin Borough School and Board of Education allowed use of the auditorium, Dream DJ Entertainment provided the crown cases and lighting and sound for the pageant, Cheer Spirits contributed Sashes, Jackie’s Beauty Studio XO is giving makeup services to Alexandria Colfax for winning, Barbara Moonsammy Photography documented the event through pictures and the Sussex County YMCA gave a 6 month door prize to an audience attendee.
