If you don’t want to go home, you don’t have to.
The 10th annual Rock, Ribs & Ridges festival features some of the biggest names in Southern rock and blues rock headed by Southside Johnny and The Asbury Jukes and 38 Special, plus mouthwatering barbecue served up by top pitmasters from around the country, at the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta, from June 29-30.
Festival-goers looking to extend their stay at the annual summer bash presented by Franklin Sussex AutoMall have the option of extending their party experience by camping out throughout the weekend just yards away from the festival area at the Fairgrounds.
They can start their extended weekend with an exclusive campers-only, after-hours concert by The Screamin’ Eagle Band on Friday, June 28. A planned showing for campers of the upcoming Artimus Pyle movie, Street Survivors: The True Story of the Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane Crash, is scheduled following the headlining concerts Saturday night, June 29, should the movie’s post production wrap in time.
Those who stay over can also enjoy a Sunday morning “Get-together” with free coffee and donuts on Sunday, June 30.
“We’re proud of the festival atmosphere we’ve created where so many people want to camp out for the weekend or sleep over in their RV,” said Festival Executive Producer Howard Freeman of Promo1. “Being able to stay over adds to their festival experience. It’s also a cost efficient way for outdoor enthusiasts to make the most out of their time in this part of the state as you don’t have to leave the fairgrounds.”
Southern rock powerhouse 38 Special (“Hold On Loosely,” “Rockin’ Into the Night”), Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Artimus Pyle (“Sweet Home Alabama,” “Freebird”), The Weight Band (“The Weight," "Up On Cripple Creek," "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down"), Blackfoot, and The Matt Coffy Band perform on Saturday, June 29.
Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes (“I Don’t Want To Go Home,” “Love On The Wrong Side Of Town”), The Outlaws (“There Goes Another Love Song,” “Green Grass & High Tides”), The Marshall Tucker Band. (“Heard It in a Love Song,” “Can’t You See”), and the Farmer Phil Band perform on Sunday, June 30.
Five of the top pitmasters in the country will compete in a juried rib cook-off and serve up delicious barbecue for attendees throughout the weekend.
The General Admission Weekend Pass with Camping includes up to three nights of camping, access to the festival both days, access to a campers-only concert on the main stage by The Screamin’ Eagle Band followed by a bonfire on Friday night, the planned movie Street Survivors: The True Story of the Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane Crash should it be completed on time for Saturday night, and overnight access each night to restrooms and full showers provided free of charge.
Festival attendees can also enjoy a relaxing weekend at the Fairgrounds in their own RV. If you don’t have your own RV, rentals are available from 84 RV in Sussex, which will deliver your RV to the Fairgrounds and set it up for you.
