Jefferson posts win over Newton

    Jefferson Township High School defeated Newton High School, 5-2 in varsity baseball on Saturday May 11, at Memory Park.
    Pitcher Luke Foth earned the win on the mound going 5 1/3 innings, allowing just two runs on seven hits and three walks with four strikeouts for Jefferson (12-11). Reliever Johnny Knox finished the game throwing 1 2/3 innings resulting in two hits and three strikeouts. Mike Novak doubled and singled and drove in two runs and scored a run. Tyler Ruban scored two runs, Jason Taylor scored one run and Austin Jack scored one run.
    Dylan Testa went 2-for-2 and scored a run. Derek Campbell singled and drove in two runs for Newton (7-11) and Peyton Nolan scored a run.
