Big Apple Comedy at The Newton Theatre

    NEWTON, NJ - The Big Apple Comedy Club returns with four of New York City's freshest comedians for a show on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at 8 PM. Don’t miss the chance to see these hilarious, high energy comics in action!
    Matthew Broussard - Born in New Jersey, raised in Atlanta and winner of Houston's Funniest Person, Matthew Broussard isn't sure where he's from. In 2016, Matt made his late night debut on Conan premiered his Comedy Central Half Hour Special and competed in both seasons of Jeff Ross's Roast Battle. He is also the creator of the popular play-on-words puzzle webcomic (and app!) mondaypunday.com. Other shows he has appeared on are Comedy Knockout, Adam Devin’s House Party, The League, and The Mindy Project. Matt has also been featured at the Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival.
    Vlad Caamano - With the name “Vladimir,” few people expect a Dominican from The Bronx to take the stage. His comedic style is the fruit of an immigrant Dominican family living in the cultural mecca that is New York City and is described as an elegant combination of urban grit and intellect. He began polishing his wit in the concrete jungles of The Bronx and Washington Heights and after graduating from Wesleyan University launched into Standup Comedy. He is an NBC Standup for Diversity Finalist and has been featured on Gotham Comedy Live on AXS.TV, NUVO TV’s Standup and Deliver and, most recently, Jimmy Kimmel Live. Vladimir tours nationally and is a regular in the New York scene performing at The Stand, Gotham Comedy Club and Comic Strip Live. He is also a Diversity Scholarship Winner at The People’s Improv Theater where he is also taking writing courses. Whether discussing his Mother’s obsession with Tropicana orange juice, traveling to college without luggage, or telling stories of his outrageous dad, you will enjoy this artst weave a hilarious fabric of truth and absurdity.
    Maija DiGiorgio is a comedian, actor, writer, radio personality, filmmaker, musician, and a NY-to-LA transplant. In her first year doing stand up, Maija took the comedy world by storm taping five national TV appearances, receiving a standing ovation at NBC’s Live from the Apollo, and performing at the HBO Aspen Comedy Festival. Since her impressive start in comedy, Maija has taken her talents to countless prestigious venues worldwide—including the Beacon Theater, the New Orleans’ Essence Festival, and Scotland’s Edinburgh Festival—as well as TV performances across most major networks— including HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, NBC’s Comics Unleashed, Fox’s Laughs, Uncontrolled Comedy Hour, Bet’s Comic View, and Showtime’s Michael Vick Comedy Explosion. Through her work, she has had the opportunity to perform alongside many industry standouts— including Dave Chappelle, Kevin Hart, Bill Burr, Dane Cook, Wanda Sykes, Mike Epps, and Tracy Morgan.
    Steven Scott is a comedian, actor, and host whose unique and tasteful brand of comedy combines clever observations of his everyday life with his amazing vocal talents; which include an array of characters, voices and sounds ranging from celebrities to musical instruments. Described as a perfect mix between Jerry Seinfeld and Jim Carrey, Steven loves getting paid now to do exactly what used to get him in trouble as a kid. He has traveled to all 7 continents; performing comedy clubs, conventions, cruises, colleges, festivals, roasts, military bases and major stages from Broadway to the Las Vegas Strip. He has performed with some of the biggest names in show business, both on stage as well as on-screen where he has made numerous television appearances on shows for NBC, CBS, FOX, VH1, MTV, Comedy Central, Gotham Comedy Live and, most recently, NBC’s America’s Got Talent! Steven was also cast as a series regular in a pilot for a hip sketch comedy show co-starring Tyra Banks & Jamie Foxx and is a longtime member of the legendary Friars Club.
