Mosquito Control in Sussex County this April

    NEWTON - Authorities aim to make the summer months more enjoyable and safer by spraying for mosquitos. The Sussex County Office of Mosquito Control has schedualed an aerial application (by plane) between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m. on April 22 of Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (BTI) a bacteria for the control of larval (immature, Aquatic state) mosquitoes. The material is a solid, granual material i.e., broundup corncob huusks. ares to be treated include unihaited, wetlants, April 22 through April 26. The Office will be using the product Vectoback GS EPA Reg#72049-10, which has an active ingredient of Bacillus thuringiensis.
