FBLA members quality for nationals

Twenty-one members of the Wallkill Valley Regional High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America participated in the 2019 FBLA State Leadership Conference at Harrah’s in Atlantic City March 20-22.
The members were accompanied by Mrs. Carol Jurkouich, FBLA Adviser, and Mr. Robert Gunderman.
Members attended various leadership workshops and participated in competitive events.
John Spadora ran an outstanding campaign along with Campaign Manager Riley Cunniffe and the Wallkill contingency. Spadora gave his declaration of office speech at the Conference Northern Region Session, conducted a campaign booth, and participated in a candidate caucus.
As a result, Spadora was elected the 2019-2020 New Jersey FBLA Northern Region Vice President. The State honored the Wallkill Valley Business Person of the Year, Mr. Martin Theobold, owner of Heaven Hill Farm, and the Wallkill Valley Volunteer of the Year, Michael Brick, former Wallkill Valley FBLA member and current underwriter trainee at Selective Insurance.
Garett Koch gave an unbelievable inspirational speech to the New Jersey membership which focused on having dreams and “Being You.”
Members also will advance to the 2019 National Leadership Conference in San Antonio.
