Project Self-Sufficiency to host career fair

    Attendees who visit the Career Fair at Project Self-Sufficiency on Wednesday, April 17, will be entered to win a $250 Shop Rite gift card, and have the opportunity to fine-tune their interview skills and attend multiple workshops in addition to meeting with area employers.
    The Career Fair, open 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., is designed for job seekers, those who need assistance with job search techniques, and people who need help navigating their current workplace. Representatives from local businesses and educational institutions will be on hand to promote job openings and scholastic opportunities.
    The event will feature workshops about resume-writing, interview skills and the job search process, allowing participants to practice interview techniques and obtain valuable feedback from seasoned professionals. The Career Fair is free and open to the public; no registration is required. Project Self-Sufficiency is located at 127 Mill Street in Newton.
    “Project Self-Sufficiency’s Career Fair allows job seekers to get immediate feedback on their resume and interview skills, in addition to learning about job openings and options for furthering their education,” noted Project Self-Sufficiency Executive Director Deborah Berry-Toon. “Attendees can learn new skills and gain the confidence they need to pursue a successful job search.”
    More than 50 employers and educational institutions will be promoting opportunities, including Bath Fitters; Bristol Glen; Caring Touch Homecare; Express Employment; Healthcare Services Group; Hilton Garden Inn-Rockaway; iHeart Media; NJ Courts-Morris/Sussex; Project Self-Sufficiency; SAS Retail; SCARC; Selective Insurance Company of America; Telesearch Staffing Solutions; Walmart; WFG/TFA-TransAmerica; and Willowglen Academy.
    Those who attend the Career Fair will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for a $250 Shop Rite gift card.
