Perfect Pointe succeeds in Atlantic City

    Perfect Pointe Performing Arts Studio (P.P.P.A.S) Director and Co-Director, Jessica Barlow and Rebecca McCormac lead their company dancers into an award-winning weekend at the NUVO national dance competition. The dancers proudly competed and brought home high-placement awards, scholarships and titles.
    The companies youngest age division Biddis (Kendall Barlow, McKinley Barry, Olivia Boyce, Leighton Capogrosso, Olivia Cohen, Megan McLean, Payton Rosenberg, Nicolette Rossi, Abigail Slieter, Ashlynn Tobin, Isabella Witowski) placed a High Gold in their jazz routine “Cooking with Grease” choreographed by Jessica Barlow. The Biddis also received 1st Overall in their category NUbie Group and earned the title of Best NU Group in the NUbie Age Division for this routine. These young dancers also earned a Gold award for their Biddi Tap “Follow the Leader.”
    In the Mini division, (Claire Cioce, Lucianna DeSilver, Alexa Mercer, Mya Sedlack, Julia Smith) the dancers proudly finished with Gold placement awards for their jazz number “Salute” and lyrical routine “Come Sail Away.” The dancers also received a High Gold for Mini Tap “The Old Bamboo” which was also chosen as a Studio Pick performance by NUVO and performed in the closing show.
    Perfect Pointe’s Petite Tap Trio (Jade Guerra, Lyndsey Lang, Ella Rozynski) placed a Gold for their routine “Kaboom.” Petite-Teen Jazz “Bust a Move” and Petite-Teen Lyrical “Built This City both earned Gold awards (Jade Guerra, Julia Hamman, Maggie Higgins, Lilly Nugnes, Ella Rozynski, Julia St.Clair). Teen Tap Trio (Jenna Blandina, Sarah Borino, Isabella Sportelli) received a High Gold for “Fascinating Rhythm.” Teen Tap Line (Jenna Blandina, Sarah Borino, Jade Guerra, Marcella Hill, Lyndsey Lang, Ella Rozynski, Isabella Sportelli, Natalya deWaal) won a High Gold award with “Phantom.” The studio’s Teen Musical Theatre Production danced to “Bandstand” and placed Gold for their performance.
    High Scoring Soloist Kendall Barlow placed 3rd Overall as a NUbie Soloist. Lucianna DeSilver won 6th Place Overall as a Mini Soloist. Special recognition from NUVO was given to Lilly Nugnes who was awarded the title of Mini Break Out Artist. Payton Rosenberg was honored with NUVO’s Die Hard Dancer NUbie Scholarship awarded by NUVO’s faculty dancer Angela Cifone. Additionally. Maggie Higgens was titled as a NUVO Die Hard Dancer and awarded a scholarship by So You Think You Can Dance choreographer Stacey Tookey. A Hip Hop Stand Out Scholarship was given to Alexa Mercer and awarded by the popular choreographer Tucker Barkley. Jenna Blandina received a Tap Stand Out Scholarship which was awarded by renowned tap dancer Anthony Morigerato.
