The Sparta Avenue Stage in Sparta will feature two renowned magic performers in April 2019; Saturday, April 6, the monthly 24 Karat Close-up magic show features the extraordinary card magic of Jason Ladanye-a virtuoso card magician. On Saturday, April 20, the French Artiste Magician, Boris Wild, will visit the stage as part of his US east coast tour. Both shows begin at 8 p.m.
In his performances, Jason exposes the underground world of cheating at cards and exposing the ‘’cons, cheats and deceptions” of the card magician at the close-up table. Earlier this year, Jason was invited to perform at the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, California. He was a guest lecturer at the sold-out magic convention “MagiFest” in January 2019, promoting his newly released book Game Changer. In 2013, Jason published his first book, Confident Deceptions, a blend of magical and gambling effects with a deck of playing cards.
Jason Ladanye always had an interest in card magic. While he was on a break from touring and playing keyboard with the award-winning blues artist Shemekia Copeland, he decided to take his passion for card magic into a full-time career. He developed a one-hour show with magic ranging from gambling cons, theatrical magic and mental effects with lots of audience participation.
Close-up magician Joshua Jay, currently stars in his own one-man Off-Broadway show, “Six Impossible Things”, stated that “Jason’s ideas with a deck of cards never ceases to amaze. His ability to fool layman and magicians only elevates his talents.”
Tickets for Jason’s show are $15 with special discounts for Gen Y and seniors. More information and tickets are available at spartastage.com or call 973-769-2893 to reserve seats.
Boris Wild is another globe-trotting magician coming to the Sparta Avenue Stage. Boris, “The Artiste Magician”, hails from Paris, France and is one of the most renowned French magicians in the world. He is a Grand Prix Winner at the FFAP French Championships of Magic, a Monte Carlo Magic Stars Award Winner and a FISM Winner at the World Championships of Magic for his “Kiss Act”. He has appeared on many French and international TV shows such as Le Plus Grand Cabaret du Monde (five appearances), Champions of Magic (USA), International Close-Up Show (China) and Magic Castle 2018 (Japan).
Boris is the recipient of the Bronze Medal of Cultural Influence from La Renaissance Française and has been awarded the Robert-Houdin Bronze and Silver Medals by the Fédération Française des Artistes Prestidigitateurs for his representation of French magic abroad. Boris’s show will be on Saturday, April 20th at 8 p.m.: earlier in the day, he will present a special lecture for magicians only at 3 p.m. sponsored by The Society of American Magicians Assembly #168.
