Annual Recovery-Friendly St. Patrick’s Day Party

| 06 Mar 2019 | 12:39

Often times, people associate the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day with alcohol-filled parties, which can create a barrier to enjoyment for people in recovery or for families wishing to enjoy a safe, fun, sober holiday. In Sussex County, a team of Recovery Advocacy volunteers meet monthly to organize events that promote and support recovery. With that in mind, the Center’s 5th Annual Sober St. Patrick’s Day Party will be held at 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 17. All are invited to join this free community event featuring the Lenihan School of Irish Dance, great food and an inspirational speaker who are in recovery.
Join friends and allies of recovery on Sunday, March 17, 2019 for this free social event, presented by Center for Prevention and Counseling, The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence of New Jersey (NCADD-NJ) and the County of Sussex. The public is invited to enjoy music and dinner with family and friends of all ages from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Center, 65 Newton-Sparta Road in Newton. People in recovery, their family members, and other supporters of a recovery lifestyle meet monthly as Recovery Advocates to plan community events like this. To RSVP, or for further information about other Recovery Support events in Sussex County, contact Katie at The Center at (973) 940-2966 or email katie@centerforprevention.org.
