Franklin Borough residents, while expressing a desire to help revitalize Main Street, asked for better communication between the Borough Council and Planning Board.
Several residents stated that they saw the ‘For Sale’ signs out in front of the Theatre building.
Resident Dick Durina expressed his belief that having a theatre could help bring other businesses into the area, noting Newton and Sussex as examples of having a theatre.
Forward Franklin Alliance asked the Borough Council to vote on an icon that will be displayed on banners throughout Main Street.
Administrator Alison Littell McHose walked the meeting hall isles with the 3 choices so the audience could see them. Although divided on opinion, ultimately council members settled in on one design.
Tamara Contreras from Forward Franklin Alliance invited council members and Franklin Borough residents to come support the Poster Pride Contest and winner announcements on March 14, on the second floor at the Library from 5:30-7 p.m.
    Twenty-five entries were submitted.
Contreras also let the council members know about the May 18th Wellness Expo being planned and said it is “a great opportunity for organizations to come and represent themselves.”
Recreation CommitteeCouncil Members approved Recreation Committee appointments for Scott Davis, Bobbi Formica, Concetto Formica, Jennifer Giordano, Anthony Marino, and Christina Sanchez. Three more spaces are available.
A Recreation Committee Secretary and a Nutrition Site Manager also were hired. Council Member and Recreation Committee Appointee Joseph Limon shared that the Senior Spring Fling Dance date is April 27, the same weekend as the borough wide garage sale.
Two residents specifically went in front of the Council Members and asked if the date for the Spring Fling could be changed to a different date so that seniors did not have to choose one event over the other event.
Shared servicesThe shared services zoning officer agreement with Hamburg is being extended for another 30 days.
Some council members continued to express concerns about the benefits.
Dog licensesLittell McHose reminded everyone that after March 1, dog license overage fees will apply.
She also said a microchip event sponsored by SB One Bank will be held on March 30, from 2-6 p.m.
The first 50 are free, after that 15 dollars.
