Wallkill Valley tops Butler in tourney opener

HAMBURG — Shawn Falks scored a game-high 18 points, leading Wallkill Valley to a 56-45 win over Butler in the first round of the North 1, Group 1 Basketball Tournament on Tuesday, Feb. 26.
Zane Crum added 14 points for the Rangers (20-7) and Shane Geene added 12 points.
Jason Polons scored a team-high 14 points for Butler (7-18). Patrick Monahan scored nine points and Christian Verrico added eight.
