Police: Hamburg man resisted arrest

    A Hamburg man faces charges after police received a call on Thursday afternoon of a disorderly male at Koz's Korner on Rutherford Avenue in the borough.
    Thomas E. Lozier, 52, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
    Police said they responded to the area to find that Lozier was allegedly causing a public nuisance and an annoyance to the public inside and outside of the establishment.
    As officers intervened and attempted to speak to Mr. Lozier, police said he became extremely aggressive engaging in fighting, threatening, and violent behavior. He continued to shout offensive language and profanity while in a public place, specifically Koz's Korner. He allegedly threatened Officer David Schneider and Officer David MacQuesten with physical harm and death on multiple occasions.
    While Officers attempted to arrest Lozier, he became combative and made efforts to avoid being arrested.
    Lozier was ultimately detained and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
    Lozier was not injured during the arrest however was transported to Newton Medical Center for evaluation by Saint Clair’s Emergency Medical Service
    Following his arrest, Lozier was released in accordance with the guidelines on New Jersey's bail system pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing.
