Second Franklin police officer injured

    A second Franklin police officer was assaulted in several days after borough police responded to a domestic dispute on Saturday, Feb. 16.
    Danielle Kapetanakis, 38, of Hamburg was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and simple assault on the male with whom was allegedly engaged in a dispute.
    Police said they received a call aboute a domestic disburbance at about 6:30 p.m. at the Brick and Brew on Route 23 in the borough.
    Officers said they found one of the involved parties in a verbal dispute with another party on the scene.
    As police officers intervened in the dispute, Kapetanakis allegedly became became extremely aggressive, engaging in fighting, threatening, and violent behavior. She allegedly attempted to physically attack a male. While Detective Flora attempted to intervene in the altercation, Kapetanakis purposely struck Flora with her elbow in his eye, causing an injury
    Flora was treated by the Wallkill Valley First Aid Squad and refused further medical treatment at this time.
    Kapetanakis, was also found to have an outstanding warrant from Butler.
    Following her arrest, Kapetanakis was processed and lodged in the county jail in accordance with the guidelines on New Jersey's bail system pending her first appearance in Central Judicial Processing.
