Newark man charged in Franklin bank robbery

A Newark man has been charged on on Wednesday, Jan. 17, in connection with a robbery three days early at the Franklin TD Bank.
Myron V. Anderson, Jr., 38, of Newark, N.J. was arrested in West Orange at 2 p.m. and was charged with one count of robbery, a crime of the second degree and he was sent to a local county jail while also beingg held on open federal charges for various bank robberies.
On Monday, Jan. 14, at approximately 9:30 a.m. police allege Andeerson entered the TD Bank on State Highway 23 in the Borough of Franklin and handed a teller a hand written note that instructed her to give him an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect continually demanded more money.
Police said Anderson took the money and left the bank on foot, walking along State Highway 23.
Anderson is considered a suspect in a series of bank robberies throughout the region. However, police said additional information will not be released due to the ongoing investigation.
The investigation and arrest was the result of a cooperative effort involving the Franklin Borough Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Sussex County Prosecutors Office, and several local police Agencies throughout New Jersey.
