Franklin man charged with using counterfeit cash

A Frankin Borough man faces charges after police were dispatched to Taco Bell for a report of a patron attempting to use counterfeit money.
Christopher D. Pennella, 24, was charged on Dec. 8 with two counts of forgery andd two counts of theft by deception.
Police said they were dispatched to the restaurant at 8 p.m. and discovered the same suspect had used counterfeit money on Dec. 5, 2018, and was successful in obtaining food and a bverage.
Police said the investigation revealed that Pennella had taken the counterfeit money from an unknown persons and used it on Dec. 5, 2018, and attempted to use it on Dec. 8, 2018, in Franklin Borough. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may follow.
