High Point-Wallkill Valley falls in ice hockey

STOCKHOLM — West Morris Mendham defeated High Point-Wallkill Valley in varsity ice hockey on Saturday, Dec. 1. The final score was 3-1 at Skylands Ice World.
High Point-Wallkill Valley is a merged ice hockey team consisting of players from High Point Regional High School and Wallkill Valley Regional High School.
Eric Honold scored for High Point with 28 seconds left in the first period. Teammate Devin Haines contributed the assist. Grant McClung tied the game for West Morris Mendham late in the second period.
Two goals from Jake Marszalek with the game tied in the third period pushed Mendham past High Point-Wallkill Valley, 3-1. Liam Lloyd, Tristan Aikenhead, Sean Caddo, and McClung had assists for West Morris Mendham.
Goalkeeper Tai Ruvo had 56 saves for High Point-Wallkill Valley (0-3).
Goalkeeper Connor McDonough had 23 saves for West Morris Mendham (3-0), which out-shot High Point-Wallkill Valley, 59-24.
