The Wallkill Valley Youth Football Midgets 7th/8th grade team went undefeated in the Morris County Youth Football League’s American Conference, only giving up 5 touchdowns all season, including an 8-0 shutout of Kittatinny in the Championship game.
This team has six seventh-graders and 14 eighth-graders from the Wallkill community.
In the past 4 years this Wallkill team has only lost 3 games, 2 of them championship games. They have won a championship in both the North Jersey Youth Football League and this year’s Morris County Youth Football’s American championship. Wallkill’s 5th/6th grade team also went undefeated this season and beat Lenape Valley in their Morris County Youth Football American Conference Championship.
Wallkill Valley High School has had a very positive impact on these youth teams as Athletic Director Daryl Jones allows the teams to use the school’s media center to watch game film, the gym when the weather does not allow them to practice outside as well as the high school’s practice field and game field when needed.
Wallkill Valley’s Head Coach Bobby Leach and other coaches come to their games as well to provide support and encouragement.
