    Sheila A. Celantano, 43, of Franklin was charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer (two counts), a crime of the fourth degree crime; criminal mischief, a disorderly person offense; resisting arrest, a disorderly person offense; obstruction of a governmental function, a disorderly person offense; and maintainaing a nuisance on a residential property, a borough ordinance violation.
    At 8:27 p.m., Franklin Borough Officers were dispatched to a residence for a 9-1-1 call from a female indicating some type of dispute with her daughter. Prior to the arrival of patrols, dispatch further advised that the caller was now claiming to be alone in the residence and the nature of her distress could not be discerned. Dispatch further advised that the caller seemed to be under influence of alcohol and or narcotics.
    Upon their arrival, patrols reported that a female, later identified as Celentano, engaged them by what she herself described as “karate kicks” and struck Patrolman Schneider and Sergeant Robert Vander Ploeg in the performance of their duties. She continued to fight with the officers and resist arrest throughout the entire encounter.
    While in police custody, the female continued to kick and punch Officer Schneider, causing damage to his portable radio, police said.
    Sheila was found to have a $500 criminal warrant from Dover Municipal Court for failing to appear to answer to a disorderly conduct summons.
    She was lodged in the Sussex County Jail.
