Bertalan (Bert) W. Toth, Jr., age 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 5, 2018. He was born in Perth Amboy, N.J,, on April 23, 1931 to the late Bertalan and Rose Toth. Bert spent many happy years residing in both New Jersey and Florida.
Bert served in the National Guard and the US Navy on the USS Lake Champlain during the Korean War. He started his lifelong career in banking at Amboy Madison National Bank and worked at various financial institutions until his retirement in 1990. Bert and his wife traveled the world extensively pursuing their mutual passion for cruising.
Bert was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Arlene in 2016. Bert is survived by his children and their families; Beverly McDonnell and her husband James of Monroe Township, NJ, Daniel Toth and his wife Kathleen of Glenwood, N.J, and Audrey Sparta and her husband Michael of Vernon, NJ, as well as his seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He also is survived by his brother William Toth of Manville, NJ.
