OGDENSBURG — Ogdensburg Borough Public School was awarded the Bronze level certification by the Future Ready Schools- New Jersey (FRS-NJ) committee.
FRS-NJ is an effort to maximize digital learning and help school districts move toward preparing students for success in college, career, and citizenship. The program is a coalition of the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE), the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) and New Jersey Institute of Technology.
FRS-NJ helps schools and districts move towards empowering teachers and leaders to develop students who take charge of their learning and tools to support a more personalized approach to ensuring college and career readiness for all students. Districts conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments of the district’s technology infrastructure and develop a sustainable plan to ensure broadband classroom connectivity and wireless access.
A team of teachers, students, and administrators, led by Valerie Reeth, completed the comprehensive FRS-NJ application. Ogdensburg Borough School has upgraded its internet infrastructure, provided Chromebooks for every student between grades 3-8 to utilize during the school day, identified strengths of school programs and organized professional development to heighten strength and build on weaknesses. The team investigated leadership, budgeting, technology, curriculum, and community. Gathering information from a variety of in-school and out-of-school resources remains a valuable part of the process as the school moves forward.
