NEWTON — The Big Apple Club returns with four of New York City's freshest comedians for a show on Friday, Nov. 23, at 8 p.m.
Jim Dailakis has been touring the USA and the world for the last 15 years headlining in major comedy clubs including Caroline’s, Standup New York, Broadway Comedy Club and Dangerfield’s in New York City.
He's performed at The Borgata in Atlantic City and in 44 of the United States, on the IG Corporate 53 City Tour and IG Ontario Tour across Canada in sold-out 2000+ seat theaters as well as performances in Australia, Scotland, Singapore and Malaysia. Dailakis has shared the stage Jerry Seinfeld, Larry the Cable Guy, Kevin Nealon, Caroline Rhea, The Temptations, Aretha Franklin and Weird Al Yankovic. He's performed alongside Brad Garrett from Everybody Loves Raymond at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Since his arrival in the US, Jim has appeared in TV movies, TV series and interna- tional commercials.
Monroe Martin mines laughs from an unusual source — growing up in foster care and being moved from one dysfunctional home to another.
With a very honest, open approach to storytelling and an engaging personality, Martin effortlessly turns his childhood of hard knock experiences into comedy gold. He attended the Community College of Philadelphia, but dropped out to pursue comedy wholeheartedly, because he couldn’t imagine doing anything else.
Seven years later, Martin’s creative and charismatic comedic voice has created a buzz within the New York comedy circuit and earned him respect among his comic peers. He was given his own Breakout Artist Night by the famed Caroline’s Comedy Club in New York City, where he got to book and headline his own show in 2013. Martin currently performs all over the country. He has appeared on “Last Comic Standing”, “The Artie Lange Show,” NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon," “Adam Devine’s House Party” on Comedy Central as well as “Gotham Comedy Live” on AXS TV.
Chris Roach is bringing comedy to new heights. Born and raised in Ronkonkoma, NY, Chris has appeared on Comedy Central, ABC’s One Life to Live and is now a cast member on CBS’ hit sitcom “Kevin Can Wait” starring Kevin James and Leah Remini.
Chris plays Kevin’s cop buddy, “Mott.” Chris has appeared at some of America’s top venues including The Borgata Hotel and Casino, Carolines on Broadway, The Stress Factory, Governors Comedy Club and Stand-Up NY sharing the stage with big names like Kevin James, John Pinnette, Richard Lewis and Carlos Mencia. Don’t miss the chance to see this gentle giant in action.
Daniel Tirado first moved to New York city to study acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre. After graduating from the conservatory, he decided to venture into stand- up comedy. After only 6 months of performing on stage, Daniel was invited to play at the world-renowned Montreal Just For Laughs Festival in 2005.
In 2010, Daniel was welcomed back, appearing in various shows including "Best Of The Fest" as well as a televised gala in the French division of the festival "Juste Pour Rire," making him one of the very few comedians to work the event in both languages. The following year, in collaboration with JFL, Daniel was featured on a Spanish comedy special OMNI Presents Bilingual Stand-Up which aired across Canada on the OMNI TV network, making it his 3rd appearance at the festival. In 2013, Daniel made his American television debut showcasing his talent on AXS TV's Gotham Comedy Live and was selected to perform as one of the top 10 finalists on StandUp NBC. Daniel now lives in New York and performs regularly at some of the most prestigious clubs in the city.
