New Hardyston patrolmen sworn in

Many accolades and recognitions of achievement celebrated at the Hardyston Township Council meeting, Wednesday, Sept 26.
Mayor Carl Miller declared a Proclamation recognizing Nicholas DaSilva for his bravery and for surviving his battle with pediatric cancer. Miller encourages the community to “Go Gold” by wearing gold to support childhood cancer awareness.
Lawrence Barcza and Devin Gormley were officially sworn in as patrolmen with Mayor Miller as the officiant. Both Patrolmen had families present to celebrate the event along with other members of the Hardyston Township Police Department. Barcza, originally from Garfield, attended John Jay University in New York before embarking on a career in law enforcement. He previously worked in Corrections in Bordentown, Sergeant at the Palisades Parkway Police Department and most recently as a Patrolman at the Hamburg Police Department. G
ormley, originally from Jefferson, attended King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., before becoming a Patrolmen in Blairstown and then Hamburg. Both Patrolmen have been on the job since April. Gormley said he really appreciates the “amazing group of guys and comradery found at Hardyston.” Barzca agreed and added, “We really appreciate the comradery and care about the community.”
Patrolmen Richard Nudo also received an Education Achievement Award, presented to him by Bret Alemy, Chief of Police. Members of the community, Police department and Council mingled and celebrated the events with coffee and pastries.
