Philip S. Agatino, 75 years old, died peacefully at home on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018. Born to Felice and Anne Agatino in Morristown, N.J., he had lived in Lake Mohawk before moving to the Crystal Springs section of Hardyston Twp., N.J., 21 years ago.
Philip worked as an officer for the Victory Gardens Police Department attaining the rank of Detective Sergeant. He was a former member of the Mother Seton Council Knights of Columbus and Fraternal Order of Police out of Wharton. Philip was a multifaceted person who enjoyed gemology, cooking, science fiction, and art. Philip was known for his warmth and sense of humor.
Philip was the beloved husband, for 36 years, of Ruth Agatino, of Crystal Springs, N.J. Devoted father of David Haggerty of Campbellsville, KY, Pamela Agatino, of Mt. Arlington, NJ, Hallie-Leigh Haggerty of Hamburg, N.J., and Daniel P. Agatino of Mt. Arlington, N.J. Cherished by 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
The family will receive their friends at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, NJ on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at 9 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception RC Church, Franklin, NJ at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Whippany, N.J.
