Franklin police arrest alleged gang member

    FRANKLIN — Franklin Police say they have charged an alleged member of the Latin Kings gang after investigating a narcotics complaint.
    Jimmy Rolon, 43, of Jersey City was charged with distribution of an imitation controlled dangerous substance and theft by deception.
    One male individual, said to be a member of the Latin Kings gang was arrested on September 10, 2018 and charged with distribution of an imitation controlled dangerous substance and theft by deception.
    That crime occurred within 500 feet of the Franklin Pond — Park and recreation area as well as within 1000 feet of the Hardyston Elementary School. Upon inspection of the evidence it was determined that the item purchased by the individual cooperating with the Franklin Police Department was an imitation controlled dangerous substance.
    Police said Rolon was arrested on Garfield Avenue in Jersey City at about 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 10.
    Rolon was found to have an active no bail warrant from Jersey City, another warrant in Jersey City with bail set at $723, and a warrant from West Berlin in the amount of $600. Mr. Rolon reportedly has an extensive criminal history which include multiple convictions for distribution of narcotics.
    Following his arrest, Mr. Rolon was remanded to the Sussex County Jail in accordance with the guidelines on New Jersey's bail system.
